Mr. Keene has been practicing law for over 35 years and concentrates his practice exclusively in the area of marital and family law trial court and appellate litigation. Mr. Keene's family law litigation practice encompasses all aspects of family law, including dissolution of marriage and modification proceedings addressing alimony, timesharing, child support, distribution of assets, identification of non-marital assets, marital agreements, paternity, and contempt and enforcement proceedings. Mr. Keene is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator and has mediated in excess of 2,000 family law cases and has developed a reputation as an innovative and results-oriented family law mediator.

Mr. Keene's experience as an appellate practitioner is also vast and comprehensive. Mr. Keene's appellate practice focuses on direct appeals of temporary orders and final judgments involving all issues related to marital and family law. Mr. Keene also files "original proceedings" in family law matter involving writs of certiorari, mandamus, prohibition, and habeas corpus. Mr. Keene has conducted approximately 50 appellate oral arguments before numerous federal and state appellate courts throughout the United States, including before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh, Eleventh, and D.C. Circuits, the Florida Supreme Court, and extensively before Florida's First District Court of Appeal in Tallahassee. In fact, Mr. Keene's very first appearance as a licensed attorney was oral argument in a federal criminal proceeding before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago.

A native of the Midwest, after attending law school in Chicago Mr. Keene worked for a renowned boutique First Amendment and media law firm in Chicago handling pre-publication libel review and media litigation for numerous national print media and publishing conglomerates. While there Mr. Keene authored "The Threat of Multiple Prosecutions as Prior Restraint," published in the Federal Bar News and Journal. Mr. Keene later relocated to Washington, D.C., where he worked in the litigation department of a national law firm on matters involving transportation, maritime, and commercial litigation. Mr. Keene relocated to Pensacola in 1998 where he practiced with a highly respected law firm practicing exclusively in the areas of marital and family law and criminal law. Mr. Keene later founded Ross Keene Law, P.A., in 2014.

Mr. Keene is admitted to practice in Florida, Illinois, and the District of Columbia; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh, Eleventh, and D.C. Circuits; and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida, Northern District of Illinois, District of Columbia, and Eastern District of Wisconsin. Mr. Keene received his B.A. in English and History from the University of Iowa and his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law. Mr. Keene is a member of the Appellate and Family Law Sections of the Florida Bar and a member of the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association. Mr. Keene and his family reside in Pensacola.
